Nerve is a collaborative exhibition featuring Nick Clark and Jess Latch. Nerve is about using art-making as a form of exposure therapy, as the artists are embracing phobias from their childhood and transforming that obsession into admiration and love. Think about the creepy dark basement everyone bolts out of, no matter their age—Nerve is about hanging out in that basement and maybe even kind of liking it. The work consists of large monochromatic acrylic paintings by Clark, graphite drawings and a larger-than-life monster made of experimental materials by Latch. Visitors will encounter paranormal, horror, and general malaise expressed fondly in a fine art gallery context. Nerve, especially Latch’s contributions, marry fine art, horror, special effects and film influences.
Please note that the Douglas County health department requires all visitors to wear a mask or face covering to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
