OK – we’re brand new, so we can’t honestly say that these are all actually questions we are asked frequently, so let us know if there’s anything we can help you with.
Is the gallery space available for rent?
We’ve created Split Gallery as a way to provide a fine art gallery setting for all kinds of events that people would like to host. If you’re interested in renting the gallery and hosting your own event, art sale, performance, class, or anything else, check out the Art Gallery Rental page or contact us.
If I rent the gallery for my own event, is someone from the gallery going to be around during my event?
We can help you plan your event including staffing if you would like. Let us know your needs and we can let you know what the options and costs would be.
Can I have an exhibition at Split Gallery? How do I submit my artwork for consideration?
Split Gallery is available for rent so you can plan your own sale, exhibition, or event whenever it’s convenient for you.
Does Split Gallery take a commission on sales?
We offer services with simple, flat-fee pricing. We believe this puts the advantage in the artist’s favor and lets them better manage their own pricing and margins.
We’re trying a different approach to the traditional commission-based art gallery model. Instead of taking a commission on sales, we’re charging a flat fee for services. We believe this approach is more advantageous to the artist, although it may not be of interest to every artist depending on average sales volumes and price points.
For those who rent the gallery for their own event, the only cost is gallery rental and any additional services that are requested.
Do you photograph 3D artwork?
Since we’re just getting started, we’re focusing on what we know we can do well. We’re currently equipped to shoot 2D work, so we’re ready to offer that service at this time.
If you have 3D work that you’d like to have photographed, please let us know. As we expand our capabilities and learn more, we’d love to be able to help.
Is photography included in the price for listing artwork for sale online?
How do you market and promote artists and events?
Our primary vehicle for marketing and advertising at this time is online and through existing relationships.
Through our social media presence on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other channels, we reach a diverse audience. We also promote artists and events in our weekly email newsletter and on our website. Events are listed in local online event calendars. We can also assist with paid advertising for anyone interested in running an online ad campaign or offline advertising and promotion.
Events are another way in which we connect with the community. Holding events in the gallery gives us an opportunity to connect with the artwork and each other.
We also value the relationships we have with artists, buyers, and collectors, and are continuously developing new relationships along the way. If you know anyone we should talk to, please let us know.
Do I have to sign a contract or sell exclusively with Split Gallery?
No – we have no exclusivity clause or commitment contracts. We want to see artists sell as much work as possible, and we want to help them do it efficiently. If it’s good for the artist, it’s good for us.
